For nearly
70 years, Ferrellgas has been committed to providing warmth to families across
America — whether by heating water, keeping food warm, or firing a furnace. To
provide additional assistance to families in need, Ferrellgas has partnered
with One Warm Coat to collect new and gently used coats this holiday season. Beginning
Nov. 1, 2008, Ferrellgas service centers throughout the U.S. will work
with their communities to gather coats, which then will be donated back to
local organizations.
“As temperatures go down, many
families across America
lack the necessary resources to stay warm,” said James E. Ferrell, Ferrellgas’
Chief Executive Officer. “We are excited about this partnership with One Warm
Coat and the opportunity to provide a much needed service to our community.”
Over the next two months, Ferrellgas
service centers will host collection bins for One Warm Coat, a national
non-profit organization that has distributed more than 750,000 coats since its
inception in 1992. Customers and community
members are encouraged to drop off coats of any style and size. Also,
Ferrellgas drivers will accept donated coats from customers during their daily service
calls.
“Ferrellgas employees are proud
members of the communities they serve, which is why they know the importance of
working with our neighbors to make our communities a better place to live,”
said Steve Wambold, Chief Operating Officer. “Our goal is to collect 10,000 coats
nationwide; making this one of the largest donations that One Warm Coat has
ever received.”
